Get Started

If this is your first time pursuing therapy, we know the process could feel strange or unfamiliar.

We aim to make it simple and easy to get started, whether this is your first time, or you are looking for a new therapist.

1/ Decide to explore therapy

You are well on your way! Reaching out for help is brave. We are glad you are here considering taking the next step. Our FAQs may answer some of your questions. If not, please do not hesitate to contact us.

2/ Choose a therapist

Here at Modern Resilience Therapy, we have a great team of qualified therapists. Peruse our team's bios to get a feel for each therapist's approach and general vibe. If you aren't sure, feel free to contact us, tell us a little more about what you are looking for, and we can let you know who we think would be a good fit!

3/ Book a free consultation

This is an informal, no-pressure chat through phone or video that takes about 15-minutes. The therapist will introduce themselves, ask for some high-level information about what has brought you to therapy (it's ok to want to keep some things private at this point!), and answer your questions.

Research shows the fit between client and therapist is critical to success. Consultations help us make sure it feels like a good match for both you and the therapist.

4/ Book a first session

You can book your first session with your therapist in the consultation, or you can take some time to think it over. Bookings are available online, or you can email your therapist directly to get it set up.

Once you decide you want to move forward, your therapist will send you an intake form to fill out prior to the first session.
