  • Sessions that are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a charge of half of the session fee. A session cancelled with less than 2 hours’ notice will be charged the full fee. Please be aware that some insurance providers may not provide reimbursement for missed sessions.

  • I am a collaborative therapist. This means that I will make decisions with you about your goals in therapy, how to achieve them, and when to terminate therapy. Everyone’s path is unique, but your own therapeutic progress and trajectory can be discussed with me at any time.

  • Most clients will meet with me every week or every other week. Often it makes sense to meet every week at least for the first 3-5 sessions to establish a therapeutic relationship and build some momentum, however, every client is different and I can discuss the various options with you.

  • I accept e-transfers to megan@modernresiliencepsychotherapy.ca.

  • Virtual sessions are conducted through my practice management platform, Jane. Jane’s video platform is secure and fully compliant with privacy legislation. It does not require anything to be downloaded to your computer, but you will be provided with a link via email prior to each session.

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It has been shown to offer rapid improvement in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. It is particularly useful for nervous system dysregulation (for instance, experiencing physical symptoms of anxiety or trauma), as these can be difficult to treat with “talk therapy” alone.
