Anxiety is a part of life –
but it doesn’t have to run yours
See how therapy can help you with anxiety
Are you struggling with anxiety?
Anxiety can really get in the way of your life.
It can feel like you have lost control.
It may keep you from doing what matters to you - or make it feel really, really hard.
Anxiety takes many different forms, but here are some common ones:
Persistent and uncontrollable worries about past, future and even everyday situations
Feeling constantly being “on edge”, irritable, or frustrated
Trouble concentrating
A sense of panic, dread, or impending doom, maybe even panic attacks
Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
Somatic symptoms, such as a pounding or racing heart, sweating, headaches, breathing issues (hyperventilation), dizziness, and abdominal pains or nausea
If you experience social anxiety or performance anxiety, some of these above symptoms may be related specifically to social situations, public speaking, athletic events, writing tests, etc.
We work with all of these presentations of anxiety, and more.
Anxiety fundamentally relates to our nervous system.
It tries to keep us safe by identifying threats.
Sometimes, our system can get a bit stuck and may react to threats even when we are safe. Therapy can assist your nervous system to regain its equilibrium and function adaptively again.
We can help.
Virtual and in-person anxiety therapy in Ontario
Anxiety therapy provides a way out of your fears and worries. We use various therapeutic approaches to identify the negative beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to your anxiety and then learn how to transform these into something more adaptive.
Megan primarily uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, parts work, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Zinta draws heavily from Emotion-Focused Therapy and compassion-based approaches.
When doing therapy with our clients, we always provide a safe space to explore their fears and anxieties, gain insights into their triggers, and build resilience. We know talking about your fears to someone else can be stressful, but in our virtual or in-person space, you can feel safe and secure.
You don’t have to do this alone – our therapists are here to be on your team!
